Deepfield 0.9.2 Update

I am excited to announce the release of Deepfield 0.9.2!

This update brings a heavily requested workflow feature: Direct Value Mapping, allowing your front panel knobs to reflect the actual resulting value of whatever they are controlling. This is useful if your knobs have curve and other math modules in-between so it shows the non-linear result. Also packed in new factory presets, and plenty of quality-of-life improvements. Units have also been added.

New Features & Improvements

  • Direct Value Mapping: Macro knobs can now automatically inherit and display the value, unit, and range of their destination module instead of just a raw 0-100% value (e.g., displaying actual milliseconds for a delay or Hz for a filter).
  • Variant Morphing: Deepfield now smoothly morphs between module variants when switching them on the fly. Adjustable time (10ms default) from settings.
  • Startup Patch: Deepfield now loads a welcoming default factory patch on startup. If you prefer a blank canvas, there is a new setting available to load an 'Init' state instead.
  • UI Enhancements: Added more overall sizing options for the user interface, made labels cleaner by avoiding textboxes until clicked, increased the width of the variant name fields, and added variant names directly to tooltips. Also new icons!

Modules

  • Percent Knob: Updated to seamlessly accept and process any arbitrary range.

New Factory Presets

  • Added Extreme Flanger from patch maestro exm
  • Added triChorus II from patch maestro exm
  • Existing factory patches have been heavily updated to take full advantage of the new direct value and unit systems.

Bug Fixes & Optimizations

  • Optimized Compilation: Improved the graph compiler to avoid duplicate compilations
  • Mouse Handling: Fixed an issue where lingering mouse-up events could accidentally replay UI actions.
  • Stability: Safeguarded UI display updates
